Well maybe it is "impossible to move to another environment" because no other product is designed to do what Notes does. And you cannot say 'expensive' without providing a comparable ROI analysis (which should be done when developing on any platform).
I have a former client that ripped out .Net because it did not work and are going to webshere and made the statements that the only applications that worked were the Notes apps that were built for them.
